On Saturday afternoon, volunteers from every walk of life—ordained and lay, long-time practitioners and new friends—gathered on the lawn to celebrate the care and dedication that sustains KPC and KPC Buddhist Relief week after week. A heartfelt thank you to Silver Diner for generously donating the delicious hot lunch that anchored the gathering, shared alongside sweet treats and sparkling drinks.
The warmth of the gathering was unmistakable. There were big hugs and beaming smiles as Ani Dara and Tara presented certificates of appreciation. Across the tables, real connections took root: gardeners traded seasonal growing tips, parents made plans for their children to volunteer together, and families took time between bites to stroll down to the koi ponds to watch the fish. The impact of this volunteer community is tangible. Through KPC Buddhist Relief, our volunteers help procure, grow, and distribute over 16,000 pounds of food every month to families and shelters facing acute need. At the temple, volunteer care ensures that KPC’s prayer room, grounds, and 65-acre Peace Park remain open to all 365 days a year—offering a daily place of refuge where anyone can rest their mind, connect with their heart, and deepen their spiritual practice.
To everyone who joined us, to those who sent warm thoughts from afar, and to every volunteer who offers their time and care: thank you. Together we can create a more compassionate world.
