Shopping for the Hub Choice Pantry (Copy)
here are many reasons that a family may need food assistance – parental neglect, sudden loss of employment, denial of SNAP renewals, disabilities, or displacement due to evictions and disasters like fires, flood, and gas explosions.
Whatever the reason, the Upcounty Hub’s Choice Pantry offers Montgomery County residents some comfort and dignity in the midst of their struggles. With shelves full of items not usually found at food banks, like masa, quinoa, cooking oil, nuts, dried fruit, spices, and condiments, shoppers can choose foods that best meet their families’ needs.
Over 200 families are able to 'shop’ at the Choice Pantry each month. Providing 90% of the food staples for the pantry, KPC Buddhist Relief works closely with the Hub to ensure that the Choice Pantry is well stocked to meet their needs.
