First Baptist Church of Silver Spring

With Jetsunma’s blessing, KPC Buddhist Relief delivered hundreds of pounds of food to the First Baptist Church of Silver Spring on Friday, February 7. When we arrived, the shelves were nearly empty. Sarah, who helps run the pantry, shared that just last Saturday, they served 75 families—a record high and a 50% increase in a very short time. The growing need has them deeply concerned.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to provide essential staples, including peanut butter, flour, sugar, canned chicken and ham, shelf-stable milk, and flour tortillas. We also brought a variety of condiments, marinara sauce, and hearty soups, along with instant oatmeal and cold cereal to help start the day right. To bring some comfort and nourishment, we included Bush’s baked beans, instant potatoes, string cheese, chocolate chip cookies, and Planter’s deluxe mixed nuts. Fresh produce was also part of the delivery, with cases of apples and oranges.

Sarah emphasized again and again that Buddhist Relief’s support literally makes it possible for them to continue serving their community. Without these donations, they couldn’t meet the growing demand.

The need keeps rising, and we remain committed to answering the call. Thank you to everyone who makes these deliveries possible! ❤️
