You are vital to our mission at Shepherd’s Table

Buddhist Relief volunteers Rudy, Anne K, and Yekta recently delivered 602 lbs of produce and dry goods to Shepherd’s Table. The produce included broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, green bell peppers, carrots, cabbage, and onions. The dry goods included mustard, ketchup, butter, shredded cheese, Sriracha and Frank’s hot sauces, sugar, creamer, coffee, salad dressings, waffles, spices, and 42 lbs of chicken thighs and legs generously offered by our partners at the Poolesville Little Free Pantry.

Rudy, Rob, and a new guest, Billy, helped unload the van, and Chef Daniel came out to greet us. Grateful to see us but tired after preparing and serving breakfast and lunch, he shared that he’s also training three new chefs for the Shepherd’s Table staff.

Chef Daniel took us to the walk-in fridge and said, “I want to say a special ‘thank you’ to KPC Buddhist Relief as you guys are essential for our daily prep as well as the food that we provide to all of our guests. There are certain times when you guys are basically our main source of produce and we always have these designated shelves for you guys. Please let’s get more support in for you. You are vital to the menus and you’re vital to our mission at Shepherd’s Table. So with that, thank you very much. We hope to keep continuing this. You guys are a blessing.”

In this current climate, Jetsunma constantly reminds us that people are hungry and we must help feed them. KPC Buddhist Relief is committed to our weekly deliveries for the benefit of all our nonprofit partners and the communities they serve.
