KPC Buddhist Relief is proud to partner with the Upcounty Hub to provide supplies to stock their "Choice Pantry" program. The Choice Pantry offers families the opportunity to choose which items they would like to take home, providing a grocery shopping experience. This model allows for families to receive what they need, and prevents the waste associated with prepackaged distribution boxes.

Cornucopia of Blessings

This past Friday, Buddhist Relief delivered 516 lbs of food, including 80 lbs of fresh produce, to the First Baptist Church in Silver Spring. We were warmly greeted by Jim Reed, Food Closet Coordinator, who was delighted by the bounty. He said that he especially appreciated the canned beans as they can’t get them from food banks anymore.

On a recent Friday morning, our Volunteer Coordinator, Maura Daly, took part in her first Buddhist Relief outing, teaming up with Community Partnerships Coordinator Anne Kanengeiser for our bi-monthly delivery to Miriam’s Kitchen.
