More people coming off the streets yesterday were fed delicious soup and given healthy protein-filled snack packs!

This week we have done direct outreach to those most in need of warmth, comfort and nourishment by going promptly to a Montgomery County warming center and temporary emergency housing center set up for the homeless.

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already been able to get warm clothing into the hands of people who need it most.

Did you know that one in three of our neighbors experiences food insecurity? With massive cuts to SNAP benefits on the horizon, even more of our dear neighbors will struggle to put food on the table. 

This week, our team sorted and prepared 440 new winter clothing items—cozy sweat sets, pullover hoodies, and zip-up sweatshirts—to help those in need during this freezing weather. These warm essentials were joyfully received by the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless and the West African Refugee community we partner with, bringing comfort to families in need across the county.

As the colder fall weather is starting to be more consistent, many residents have been deeply concerned about the increasingly colder temperatures as winter approaches…

We are working with local organizations on the ground to provide food and essential supplies to communities devastated by Hurricane Helene.

The heat wave continues unabated here in Maryland, and on Saturday 6/22 reached a high of 98. A small intrepid band of KPC Buddhist Relief volunteers loaded up over two cases of cold sport drinks…

KPC Buddhist Relief has been busy this week! We have provided large amounts of winter clothing items for all ages and warm blankets to those in need.

We delivered tons of girls winter clothing to Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless today!

A big delivery went to Montgomery County Crisis Center today! We brought hats, socks, scarfs, sweaters, gloves, and more warm clothing.

Since Monday, Buddhist Relief has taken to the streets to help people weather the extremely cold temperatures this week! We have been distributing blankets, jackets, sleeping bags, hats, scarfs, gloves, socks, long underwear and hot beverages.
